Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin donates $600K for COVID-19 in India

Recently, Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum donated more than $600K into a fund set up to fight COVID-19 in India. All this started in the micro-blogging platform when Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Ethereum scaling platform called Polygon tweeted to run a COVID relief campaign in lieu of what’s going on in India and asked for help from the entire crypto community globally.
He said: “Can’t take this sitting down anymore, I am going to run a Covid relief campaign in lieu of what’s going on in India.
Need help from the Global crypto community.
I will take full responsibility for transparency, funds usage and regulatory compliance

Replying to this tweet, Balaji Srinivasan, a crypto pioneer and tech investor replied that he along with Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin would join him to fight COVID in India.
He said: “If you’ve been fortunate enough to do well this year, consider joining me and @VitalikButerin by donating at the addresses below.
But if all you have is Twitter, help spread the word. For every RT, I’ll donate another $50 to fight COVID in India, up to $100k.”
Srinivasan also tweeted, “Vitalik has donated to the campaign organized by @sandeepnailwal of Polygon on behalf of the global crypto community.” “Sandeep is a reputable person and has excellent accountants pitching in to make sure disbursal of funds is tracked,” he added.
On his Twitter account, Srinivasan tweeted that he transferred his first $50K in Ethereum Transaction Hash (ETH) for relief and called on others to make contributions too.

Replying to the tweet of Nailwal, Buterin shared proof of transfer of 100 ETH and 100 MKR, which is worth more than $600,000:

In response to the fund transfer by Vitalik Buterin for Covid-19 in India, Srinivasan then tweeted that for those who are not able to donate, for every retweet he will contribute another $50 to fight COVID in India, up to $100K:
